IZUMI NIKAIDO

Born in Japan, Izumi Nikaido studied at Kagoshima Junior College (Kagoshima Internal University), Royal Academy of Music, L’ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Nikaido was previously Assistant Principal Flute of Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra and a member of Hong Kong Sinfonietta. She has also played with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Macao Orchestra, Norrkoping Symphony Orchestra, Academy of St Martin in the Fields and Hong Kong New Music Ensemble.

Izumi has served as part-time flute instructor at the HKAPA Junior School, Singapore International School, Canadian International School, Christian Alliance International School, Island School, Quarry Bay School, Bradbury School, Sha Tin College, among others.  Currently Izumi is flute instructor at Marymount Secondary School and Marymount Primary School.
